Semi-Final Fan Bus

Following Ayr's progression to the Scottish Cup Semi-Final the club have arranged a fan bus to the Greenyards on March 30.

Melrose are current holders of the cup and always provide stiff opposition so every inch of pink at the Greenyards will help the squad. Prices start at £10 a head with U16s £5. Book via Colin at the clubhouse or phone 01292 441944.

The Clubhouse is open weeknights after 4pm except from Mondays.

Bus departure times are still TBC.

Ayr 34- 19 Chieftains

On Saturday Ayr sealed a spot in the Scottish Cup semi-final stage with a 34-19 victory over Currie Chieftains. In a battle of the two league front-runners Ayr's set-piece proved the difference, with a flawless line-out and devastating scrum setting the tone. Peter Murchie's men will now travel to the Greeenyards for the semi-final on March 30 to face Melrose.

Watch the Six Nations at Millbrae

Millbrae will be showing all of Scotland's 2019 Guinness Six Nations games live on our new projector screen - potentially the largest in Ayr!

PREVIEW - Cup Quarter Final v Chieftains

This Saturday Ayr will get their first runout in this season's Scottish Cup after a failure to launch in round one due to Dundee HSFP unable to field a side. They welcome familiar foes Currie Chieftains to Millbrae in the quarter-final stage in what is setting up to be a nail-bitter.

Curle Returns to Millbrae

Ayr RFC are delighted to announce that former captain and Scotland Club Internationalist Ross Curle has returned to Millbrae as cover for the rest of the season.

Curle originally joined the club in 2009 and went to win every honour available in Scotland's top flight. He departed in 2017 before retiring last year. Speaking of his return Curle stated: "I am so buzzing to come back and help out. I moved to London for work in November and before I left the club asked if I'd be able to give a hand when needed. I can't wait to catch up with all the boys and get back on the field with them, it feels like I'm coming home.

"I helped coach last season and really liked the ethos that Peter Murchie has brought to the club. It is great to be back involved".

During his playing career Curle has enjoyed multiple cup and league successes with Ayr, as well as captain both the club and Scotland Club XV. He will offer a wealth of experience to some of the younger stars coming through.

Dewhirst Named January Player of the Month

Paddy Dewhirst has been named Slater Menswear' January Player of the Month after bagging a landslide 61% of votes.

The youngster was red-hot in January with a lethal strike-rate of five tries in three games. His contribution to Ayr  has also been rewarded on the international stage, with him set to make his Scotland Club debut later today at full-back.

Speaking exclusively to ayrrugbyclub.co.uk, Paddy said: "It is an incredible honour to not only be nominated for January Player of the Month but to win. As a product of the Stuart Fenwick production line I owe a lot to my years with Ayr Community Rugby Trust and learning from the best.

"Both Fenwick and Climo have been paramount in my development as both a player and an individual".

As Player of the Month Dewhirst will receive a £50 voucher from high-street tailor Slater Menswear.

Paddy Dewhirst is sponsored by Ronnie Fawbert.
