Supporters Bus to U18 Cup Final

Ayr-Wellington U18s return to Murrayfield on Sunday 31st of March for Scottish Youth Cup Finals day, in what will be their fourth trip on the bounce. This year's challenge comes from city slickers Boroughmuir, who finished top of the U18s conference.

 

With the club having previous of painting Murrayfield pink and black there will a supporters bus leaving from Millbrae at 12.30, for the 15.00 kick-off. Prices are set at £10 a head with U16s £5. Book your place at the bar or contact Colin on 07956365946 to reserve.

Semi-Final Fan Bus

Following Ayr's progression to the Scottish Cup Semi-Final the club have arranged a fan bus to the Greenyards on March 30. 

Melrose are current holders of the cup and always provide stiff opposition so every inch of pink at the Greenyards will help the squad. The price for a seat is £10 with U16s £5. Book via Colin at the clubhouse or phone 07956365946.

The Clubhouse is open weeknights after 4pm except from Mondays. 

Bus departure times are still TBC.

Ayr Member Sadly Passes

Ayr RFC are saddened to hear of the passing of longterm member Gerald Wiggins.

 

Gerald, who passed on February 29th, was a member of Ayr RFC for 44 years. Responsible for establishing our much loved fireworks and bonfire night many moons ago, Gerald will be sadly missed.

Watsonians 22-12 Ayr

Ayr ended their regular-season campaign on Saturday with an away loss to Watsonians at Myreside. Spurred on by their departing coach Steve Lawrie, the home side were able to play the conditions better, converting a menacing wind into territorial gains. The defeat makes no change to Ayr's league place, having already secured top spot, and they will welcome Melrose to Millbrae on March 23rd in the semi-final.

Our men's 1st XV has nurtured the talents of five Scottish international players recently in Gordon Reid, Pat MacArthur, Mark Bennett, Finn Russell and Ali Price.  We have a close connection with Glasgow Warriors, with Al Kellock, James Eddie and Dougie Hall, to name but a few, having donned the pink and black shirt in the past few seasons, as well as our own players training with the Scotstoun side.
