Ayr Rugby Football Club

This Weekend Ayr will aim to secure a home play-off place when they welcome Glasgow Hawks to Millbrae.

As the sides enter the penultimate round of regular-season action Ayr sit five points clear at the top of the Tennent's Premiership and on the cusp of heading into the play-offs as the top seed. A win on Saturday is enough to confirm a home semi-final but depending on how other fixtures go they could, potentially, secure top spot with a game to spare. As much as the spotlight is on Ayr, interest will also veer to the mouthwatering fixture scheduled  at the Greenyards between second place Melrose and third Currie - which could have direct implications on the way the final four line-up.

The closest Ayr have to a derby in the Tennent's Premiership, both sides have already met in this years campaign. Balgray was the backdrop for that encounter but it was the side south of the M77 that ran away victors. Tries from Robbie Nairn, Grant Anderson (2), Steven Longwell and Paddy Kelly combined with two Frazier Climo conversions contributed to a 5-29 win.

Alex McGuire picks up his second start of the season with Pat MacArthur missing out through injury. Robbie Smith has been called onto the Glasgow Warriors bench and will make his debut if called upon. The rest of the pack remains unchanged.

Warrior Paddy Kelly returns to the 13 jersey and Jamie Bova starts in replace of Kyle Rowe, who is sidelined.

Stuart Collier comes onto the bench alongside Ben Paterson and James Pinkerton
