Ayr Rugby Club has seen many developments over the past few years. With the success of many youth teams, through to the 1st XV squad winning the Scottish Premiership and the Scottish Cup as well as achieving great results in the B&I Cup, results have reflected a great growth in the success of the club as a whole.
Ayr is a trailblazer in being one of the first Scottish club sides to have the vision and will to invest in a Rugby Academy. This isn't just a few sessions a week but something which identifies the best talent within the male and female youth squads and focuses on a more individual basis so that they can develop themselves as players and people to further the success of Ayr RFC and hopefully play for Ayr RFC 1st XV and beyond.
Ayr Rugby Academy is partly funded by the club and the youth section. This investment has gone towards facilities, equipment and personnel. Players also need to be able to fund their place at the Academy and we have a sponsorship document which players can give to prospective supporters to enable them to take up their position at the Academy. The cost is £420 in total but it can be broken down to £35 a month for a year.
We would like to thank the parents who have supported their youngsters since the Academy's launch under Colin White in 2011, as well as the Ayr Community Rugby Trust and the Bill McLaren Trust for all their generosity and assistance.
