Ayr start their BT Cup campaign in the third round with a tough away game against Stirling County on Saturday.
These two teams' last encounter was in January when the visitors to Bridgehaugh came away with a narrow win in the BT Premiership.

That was Ayr's last competitive match, but they have had a joint training session with Whitecraigs, which has given the players some game time, and they will be raring to get back to action.

'It was close at Bridgehaugh a few weeks ago and we expect the same again this weekend as both clubs hope to progress in the BT Cup and secure a home quarter-final,' says Ayr head coach Calum Forrester.

In the squad, Steven Longwell and David Young start in the front row and Cameron Taylor is promoted from the bench.

Danny McCluskey partners Ayr and Scotland Club XV captain Ross Curle in the centre.

The experienced replacements have the added youthful exuberance of Jack Preston and Scotland U20s hooker Lewis Anderson.
