Ayr Rugby Football Club

On Saturday Ayr RFC host Heriots in what will be the final game of 2018 at Millbrae.

In their last outing Murchie's men scraped a late victory against mid-table Stirling County, and know they will need to be back at their sparkling best on Saturday.

The two sides have already clashed in this year's Tennents Premiership, bumping heads back in September at Goldenacre.

On the day it was Ayr who found victory, cruising to a 24-32 victory with scores coming from Kyle Rowe (2), Steven Longwell and Frazier Climo.

The day plays host to an Ayr/Heriots triple-header with both the ladies and 2Xv also welcoming their city-centre counterparts. Due to unplayable pitches they are both in action at Marr playing fields in Troon.

For the 1XV the backs benefit from Scotland International and Glasgow Warrior Centurion Alex Dunbar. The 28-year old is currently Scotland's in-favour 12, with 30 caps. He comes into the squad for needed game time.

With Dunbar at 12, Danny McCluskey moves to 13.

In the pack Ben Paterson earns his first start for the 1XV with Sayce dropped to the bench. Alfie North returns to the engine room with Corbenici switched to six for the injured Tommy Spinks.

On the bench Dutch Internationalist Wolf van Dijk comes in alongside Glasgow Warrior Paddy Kelly.
