Ayr Rugby Football Club

Friday night saw the inaugural Pink and Black Academy Awards at the University of the West of Scotland Ayr Campus.

An evening celebrating the success of all the young individuals involved in the Ayr RFC academy, there was six awards up for grabs across the three sections. 

Ran by Ayr Community Rugby Trust, Director of Youth and Women's Rugby Stuart Fenwick hailed the event, stating: "It was the first time running a dinner to celebrate the Academy Players. A lot of work goes in every year to maintain a successful academy set up and we were delighted to showcase that on Friday.

"I would personally like to thank all involved in organising in running the event, including our wonderful hosts at UWS. Thank you to all of the sponsors on the night for their continued support of youth rugby". 

The award winners were as followed.

 

Junior Academy:

Development Player of the Year, sponsored by Darwin Johnson Plumbing and Heating - Jonathan Turnbull.

Player of the Year, Sponsored by J.D Thomson and Son - Yeadon Davie.

 

Girls Academy:

Development Player of the Year, sponsored by Ayr-Wellington Youth Section - Rosie Glendinning. 

Player of the Year, sponsored by L&M Survey Services - Sophie Kerr.

 

Senior Academy:

Development Player of the Year, Sponsored by Wellington School - Conrad Lynch.

Player of the Year, Sponsored by Lynch Homes - Andy Morrison.
