Ayr Rugby Football Club

With the business-end of the season now upon us Peter Murchie's men travel to the Greenyards in the Scottish Cup Semi-Final to face Melrose.

The two came to blows at Millbrae last weekend when late dramatics ended the visitor's league campaign. On the day four Craig Jackson penalties were enough to give Melrose a four point lead with eighty minutes played but a penalty try deep into injury time snuck victory for Ayr.

There is no doubt Rob Chrystie's men will be hurting, and tomorrow gives them a golden opportunity to even the score.

For both sides a place in the Scottish Cup final at BT Murrayfield is the reward for victory. Ayr haven't won the cup competition in six years, and with a 100% win record (3/3) against Melrose this season, won't plan on anything other than victory.

There are just two changes from last weekend's side, with Glasgow Warriors' Robbie Nairn and Paddy Kelly released to play.

The pack remains unchanged.

James Pinkerton drops to the bench and Jamie Bova enters the fray for the rested Ollie Smith.

The 2XV are also in action at the Greenyards in their final outing of the 2018/19 season. With Gordon Kotze in South Africa Millbrae coach Paul James takes the reins. The squad is still TBC.
